Talk:Samuel E. Watson

When a Capt of the Marine Barracks, Portsmouth Navy Shipyard, Maine; he was a friend of my Watson family of Dover, N.H., but apparently not kin as his Watsons were from Virginia. In the Mexican War he was buried in the same grave as Gen. Twigg's officer son. Prior to the Mexican War, he was C.O. of the Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C.; and the officers who had known him there, wore black mourning bands on their uniform sleeves. Never heard that his humnan remains were recovered from the Mexican cemetery? He should be entitled to a U.S. veteran's tombstone, or memorials stone; as are used overseas?
