Still living?

[edit]

The article says that he was an old man in 1948. Also, having survived a concentration camp, he was probably weakened by that experience. I would think it is unlikely that he is still living in 2013 based on these factors. I have not been able to find any information regarding his death.--FeanorStar7 11:17, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Newspaper clipping

[edit]

It doesn't give any new information, but I was looking on Newspapers.com for any articles mentioning Brand and found an article written in 1975 - https://www.newspapers.com/clip/97104993/the-kansas-city-star/ - which just reiterates the story of his immigration to Israel. As the article and the above comment say, he was an old man in 1948 and was probably deceased by the time the article was published.

I looked on Ancestry and found a record for a Samuel Brand who had been held at Buchenwald but he was only born in 1922 and so wouldn't have been an old man in 1948.
