- ... that Samoa Samoa was from American Samoa?
~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 00:56, 24 July 2025 (UTC).
Hi WikiOriginal-9, review follows: article moved to mainspace on 24 July and exceeds minimum length; article is well written and the main text is largely cited inline, however some of the information in the infobox is not stated in the article and not cited so doesn't have a clear source, can you look to remedy this? Otherwise I picked up no issues with overly close paraphrasing in a spot check; hooks is simple, but effective, and checks out to article and source cited; a QPQ has been carried out - Dumelow (talk) 06:45, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

Early life
[edit]- The immediate second mention of American Samoa seems redundant. It might be a good idea to combine the first two sentences, and maybe even sentences 4+5.
- Link senior
College career
[edit]- Looks like LBCC played in the Metropolitan Conference in 1976 and 1977. Can you find sources specifying that he was an All-Metropolitan Conference selection for those years, and add the honor to the infobox?
normally throwing with his left hand but also completed a right handed pass while at Long Beach City
Looks like a typo on "completed" but let me know. I also think a dash should be added to right-handed.- You should probably stick to either Long Beach or Long Beach City when referring to the junior college.
- Link the first mention of touchdowns and interceptions
- You could also mention that he was the team's offensive player of the year, as per this source
Professional career
[edit]- Shouldn't his college football all-star game performance be included in the college section?
Personal life
[edit]- Were you able to find any specifics on his coaching trajectory in Southern California?
- No, I didn't see anything. It was a very short stint. He was already in Samoa again by the March 1985 Winchester Sun article. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 07:23, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- I also saw it mentioned in the 247Sports article that he and his wife moved to Seattle after the pandemic. I think that's a great piece to add to this section.
References
[edit]- Add |via=[[Newspapers.com to applicable citations
- Source check:
- Source 3 doesn't verify that he played QB in high school. I would replace it either with Source 4, which explicitly calls him a "highly touted quarterback at Carson", or Source 5.
- Sources 4 and 5 contradict each other on both which leg was injured and which game it happened in. It might be better to give less details in this sentence if the facts are murky.
- Source 4 doesn't verify that the Washington State were in the Pac-10 at the time, but I suppose that's easily verifiable by clicking the link.
- Source 4 also doesn't verify the jersey number tidbit. The other citation on that sentence (Source 2) already verifies the info, so I would remove Source 4 anyways as per WP:CITETRIM.
- Addressed. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 01:10, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sublime work as always. Will be passing shortly. JTtheOG (talk) 01:28, 30 July 2025 (UTC)

General comments
[edit]- No stability concerns in the revision history
- Copyvio score looks good
- Looks like there are no free images available
- Addressed everything. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 08:47, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
Question about second sentence
[edit]The second sentence is "He was born in Leone, American Samoa, and moved to the United States in ninth grade."
I am aware that American Samoa has an incredibly complex relationship with the United States, but it is a part of the United States, I believe. So it should probably be changed to say "moved to the mainland United States..."
Just looking at the first American Samoan I could think of, its governor, whose article's first mention of the United States goes "He then furthered his education in the mainland U.S., studying at Menlo College in California."
Am I missing something or some standard? 1brianm7 (talk) 01:12, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- It's been changed, cool. 1brianm7 (talk) 02:36, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
