[edit]This village is about halfway between Bosra (Mz1) and Dhibin (Mz35). The only thing matching that on the map is Garita al-Janahiyya at mz8, given with a "?". Huldra (talk) 22:48, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- I’m surprised that it’s not directly mentioned since it was an active village at least as of 1520. We’ll look into it a bit more, but it makes sense that this village be identified as Samad since it clearly existed in the early Ottoman era and is apparently the only population center between Bosra and Dhibin. —Al Ameer (talk) 23:01, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- I suspect they have just put a question mark as the name is so very different from todays. Generally, my impression is that the Hütteroth and Abdulfattah team are not so knowledgable about the Syrian villages as they are about, say the Palestinian ones. Huldra (talk) 23:55, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
