Birth place

He was born in Toronto? Maybe I'm mistaking him for his father but from a documentary I watched about him many years ago, I thought he came over from Europe not speaking much english and with a different last name. When immigration officials asked him for a last name, he thought they were asking him about his profession. His obituary in The Star mentioned he was born in Toronto, and lived in Kensington Market, which at the time he was growing up, was a Jewish enclave. The article can be seen here Sam the Record Man founder Sam Sniderman dies at 92.--Abebenjoe (talk) 15:37, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

In a ship accident?

This newspaper article lists a "Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sniderman... of Toronto" as passengers who were aboard the cruise ship SS Shalom when it collided with a tanker in 1964. It seems likely to me that this is the same Sam Sniderman that this article is about, but I have no way to confirm it.
