Regarding Reich editing his own page

[edit]

Sam Reich had admitted to editing his own Wikipedia article on the Game Changer episode Samalamadingdong. (Season 7, episode 11.) He admitted to changing the photograph on the page. Is this a suitable subject to mention in the article, and if so, where would it fit? SenshiSun (talk) 15:13, 26 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

It is likely not notable. Please find a reliable source which regards it as such if you would like to add it. Cerebral726 (talk) 15:23, 26 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
We don't generally cover article subjects talking about Wikipedia (WP:SUBJECT). Nil🥝 09:17, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I thought that was the case. Thank you! SenshiSun (talk) 15:51, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Photo

[edit]

Look, folks, I don't know where you got the idea that an article subject couldn't supply a photo, and there's nothing nebulous about it, there's a vrt ticket attached to the original upload. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 12:09, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I think people are unclear that the rules around editing the text of your own Wikipedia page are not the same rules as providing your own photo for use on Wikipedia. – OdinintheNorth (talk) 14:55, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
And it's not even "don't", it's "you really shouldn't". SarekOfVulcan (talk) 15:10, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Other wiki-style projets have different rules about modifying images on articles. For instance, image changes on TV Tropes must go through a forum, even for small changes. It's difficult to quickly find the policy relating to the subject of an article uploading a photo of themselves.
The rush of photo related edits will likely die down soon. SenshiSun (talk) 16:00, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I mean, technically the one edit by Sam.assistant was UPE (unless we assume this was Sam himself John-Barron style instead of his actual assistant), but it was already reverted and reinstated by a third-party editor so there's nothing to see here. --Ahecht (TALK

In fact, uploading a photo is something that we encourage, per WP:A picture of you! Nil🥝 06:35, 29 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 4 June 2026

[edit]

Remove the link attached to Elaine Carroll's name in the Personal Life section (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Reich#Personal_life). Since Elaine Carroll does not have a Wikipedia article written about her, the link redirects to a web series written by her and her husband Sam Reich. Furthermore, the web series is referenced and linked to in the next sentence. In the article about their web series, Elaine Carroll does not have a link attached to her name, so it would be safe to assume a link isn't required in this article. XCraftMC (talk) 02:18, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: according to the page's protection level, you should be able to edit the page yourself. If you seem to be unable to, please reopen the request with further details. Day Creature (talk) 04:55, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for a Spoken Article addition

[edit]

Hi. I'm looking to record a spoken article addition for this Wikipedia article. Once I submit it, please let me know if there's any other information you may need to verify and update the article with my addition. Much love! Potatosapien (talk) 08:57, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article requires clarification on the process for reviewing and incorporating submitted spoken articles. Jptr11 (talk) 09:12, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
By all means. What would you like to know specifically? I have already uploaded my spoken article file through Upload Wizard, under the name "En-Sam Reich-article.ogg", though i am restricted from editing the article itself, since it is semi-protected. Anything helps! Potatosapien (talk) 09:51, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
