However since that has not happened I feel like it would be unjust to the editors who !voted to demote Sam Phillips from ptopic, so I am opening this RM so that it can be discussed nevertheless. • Long-term significance hopefully has a place in this decision, and my concern is that people are commenting without knowing who Sam Phillips was and what impact he had on music. The biography Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock 'n' Roll sums it up well. Hopefully the closer won't just count heads but actually take long-term significance, along with the "lead" in daily views, into consideration. On Wikipedia once notable then always notable, and this should go for topic primary until disproven by equal and substantial notability of another primary contender. • Comment. I don't get how this chap was a musician! Or why the other Sam Phillips was moved to Sam Phillips (musician, born 1962)? Nowhere does it say that this man was a musician. He was a producer. It even says in the article that "He was the first non-performer inducted" into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
