Nationality and Ethnicity

[edit]

So if it is true that Esmail was born to Egyptian national parents (even in the US), then he also could hold Egyptian citizenship. What we have is a lot of fuzzy sources that just say "Egyptian," not nationality or ethnicity.

A useful quote from the Egyptian citizenship wiki article: "A prime example is the child of Egyptians born in the United States, where any person born subject to its jurisdiction is automatically a citizen: assuming that both parents are Egyptian but not American citizens, the child is without question automatically an American citizen under American law and an Egyptian citizen under Egyptian law."--Shibbolethink ( ) 23:40, 17 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

The article doesn't specify citizenship, and in terms of the lead it doesn't matter: He was born in America, raised in America, lives in America, and became notable in America. I understand ethnic pride, and his heritage is certainly discussed in the article body — I even added a cited quote by him about being Egyptian-American. But it does not belong in the lead. --Tenebrae (talk) 02:49, 18 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Leave the world behind

[edit]

I haven't seen any coverage of Esmail's most recent movie leave the world behind. its listed under his filmography but no mention of it in his post 2020 works. any reason why? Kilomeats (talk) 12:04, 29 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
