Defunct, What Date?

Two dates can be argued for when the company went defunct. The first is the day the sale was finalized, Saturday, 26 August 2024. That is when Postmedia Network officially bought SaltWire Network's assets, or at least most of them. But, the company limped along for another three full months as SaltWire, with the daily newspapers still having their addresses based in their city of origin. On 1 December 2024, Postmedia News Inc. became the part of the new branding. A new entity debuted, PNI Atlantic News. On Monday, 2 December 2024, the addresses for all the papers became 365 Bloor Street East in Toronto, Postmedia's headquarters. Also, communications via email stopped using the SaltWire domain, and started using the <postmedia.com> domain. This is where having a PressReader account is handy. Page two of the Monday, 2 December 2024 Cape Breton Post or The Chronicle Herald show the change compared to the Saturday, 30 November 2024 edition of those papers. The layout was changed too. Personally, I would argue it died on 1 December 2024, when everything other than the main SaltWire domain switched to Postmedia. But I think others could make a valid case for 26 August 2024, the day the transaction concluded, and Postmedia formally owned SaltWire. Merging PNI Atlantic News

Should be a separate article because it is a new entity, with the headquarters moving to Toronto from Halifax. The history of SaltWire gets lost if it is part of the PNI Atlantic News article. The only way I would support a merger is if the article retains Saltwire Network name for the article and PNI Atlantic News is just the final section in that article. Otherwise keep them separate. Name

Not sure what's going on over here, but SaltWire Network is the proper title for this article as far as I see it. I asked HurricaneZeta to move it back for me (not sure why it says requested by Abebenjoe in the edit summary). If there's a case to change the title, I think an RM would be best.
