I think it is quite unlikely that that Salland was named after the Salian Franks. It's possible that Salland was named after the Isala (see IJssel#History) and the Salian Franks got their name from the region, or that both Salland and the Salian Franks got their name from another (unknown) origin, but retroactively naming a region after a people seems unlikely. --129.125.102.126 (talk) 22:16, 2 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
