Wikipedia's stand against company or corporation promotion on its site is understood. However, the goal of having Salam Toronto on wikipedia is not for promotional purposes but rather to inform persian english speaking individuals who are either immigrating to Ontario or are currently residing here of the existence of this weekly publication. These individuals can then have easier accessibility to free information that is meant for them.

At no point in the article is Salam Toronto being promoted as a company or business. Its role in the community as a free source of useful information as well as its achievements are all that are being mentioned.

Additionally, looking through wikipedia, one can find other newspapers and weekly papers in similar field of activity who have attained this very position. It is therefore confusing as to why Salam Toronto should not be treated similarly.
