I think derfel is as close as we will get to a genuine figure known as arthur. I do think at that time in these lands,arthur was not a king but as cornwell says,who commands the spears truly holds the power. None of the fairy tale make beleive . A brutal time which it is generally accepted as fact. Something or someone,united a group of seperate kingdoms. And it is historically accurate the saxon,germanic incursion was halted for at least a generation. And dervels,historical legends i do beleive are as close as anyone can ever be. the linked source to the catholic church gives his Date of Birth as 560 and He lived a hundred years like the article claims, but that days He died in 560. Where does this Birth year come from? ~2026-27746-4 (talk) 20:34, 13 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
