Some sources are blending Survey and Question steps into one, but this is not according to the Effective Study book, page 28. This source says that the Question step is during the Survey step, where you come up with questions to look for while looking over the whole chapter. Whereas in Effective Study, he suggests to do this for each passage. So Survey whole chapter, then on first passage Question, Read, Recite, repeat for each passage, then Review at end of chapter. Possible new source on SQ3R effectiveness

Hi all, I would like to suggest a potential source for improving the “Process” and “References” sections of this article.

A recent academic paper evaluates each step of the SQ3R method individually (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) using research from cognitive psychology, reading pedagogy and memory studies. It may help strengthen the citations in the article or clarify the evidence for each component of the method.
