SPARCclassic vs. SPARCstation Classic

[edit]

This page and, until I recently edited it, the SPARCstation LX page occasionally refer to the SPARCclassic as the "SPARCstation Classic". The SPARCclassic and SPARCstation LX are computers that were made by Sun Microsystems in the 90s. The names of most models in Sun's SPARCstation line were "SPARCstation" something, such as SPARCstation 1, SPARCstation 20, SPARCstation ELC, etc. The SPARCclassic and SPARCclassic X (an X terminal version of the SPARCclassic) were the exceptions.

I have found almost no use of SPARCstation Classic in Sun materials, but that name is commonly used in unofficial sources of information on these computers.

This page includes lots of uses of the name "SPARCstation Classic" that I would like to change to "SPARCclassic". However, I feel that I should mention the incorrect name. I propose to mention it as a commonly used, inaccurate name in the opening paragraph. Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
