Taku off Hong Kong, not Taku

• ... that Taku, Taku, Takou, and Taku (pictured), comprised the Taku-class destroyers?

    • While writing out the hook, I listed the ships in that order, but found including (pictured) halfway through the hook was visually disruptive and detracted from the point if Takou is listed afterwards. I like your idea, but the uniqueness of Takou's name is somewhat lost if the reader did not know that three other ships and the class shared a name. GGOTCC 00:43, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

How are you parsing "the only ship in the Taku-class destroyers not to be named 'Taku'", if it's not "all the other ships in the Taku class were named 'Taku'" ? DS (talk) 18:21, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

Because that claim works for many classes and is not interesting. If this was a class of two destroyers, Takou would be the only member of the class not named Taku. That would be like having a hook stating, "Did you know that USS Mount Whitney is the only Blue Ridge-class command ship not named Blue Ridge" because Blue Ridge is the only other member of the class. Here, every Taku qualifies for DYK and listing them all five illustrates the point better. Besides, the point of DYK is to showcase new content. All five qualify and make an interesting hook together. GGOTCC 18:49, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

If it's a choice between using the image or having 'Takou' at the end of a string of 'Taku's instead of in the middle, I say dump the image. "Taku, Taku, Taku, Takou" is funnier than "Taku, Taku, Takou, Taku". DS (talk) 03:11, 14 September 2026 (UTC)

We would loose the additional pun in the image name (Taku is a place and the namesake), but I see your point. How does ALT1 look?
