Designated Home Team Record
[edit]The designated home team record, by my own personal count is 8-8 as of 2007. The designated away team won in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 and the designated home team won in 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007. Rtr10 (talk) 04:27, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- If it goes every other year as who is home (between East/West), then the home team won 2007, 2006, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1994 according to the chart at SEC Championship Game#Results. (a total of 10 wins out of 16 games played so far, since the 2008 contest hasn't been played yet) Now, it may be the case that there were some years that it didn't follow the back and forth dynamic, but it is my understanding that East teams are home on even years, and West teams are home on odd years, which would give an overall 10-6 record for home teams. - Would you happen to have a reference that you could link to showing what years are home/away? I looked all over SECSports.com, but I am not seeing where it says which team is home or away. It appears the only year that falls outside of the pattern would be the year 2000. (all the other Home wins are the same as I stated) I looked up an image from the game, and it does indeed appear that Florida has on a home jersey, although that may or may not mean they were officially classified as a home team. It isn't a huge deal either way since it is only one fact, but it would be nice to make sure we have it correct, so if you have a link you are using which states it, then that would be superb. I'll just add a citation needed tag for the moment until one can be found. Very nice job on the creation of all the other SEC Championship game articles, by the way! No reason to split
[edit]There is absolutely no reason why Gator Bowl broadcasters should be split from Gator Bowl. That list is a stub that is only 5kb long. Gator Bowl is 25 kb long, much of which is tables and lists, well within the limits of WP:SIZE. A single article is only 30kb long, which is permitted, so there is no reason why the article should be split. Reywas92Talk 17:23, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Team colors in game results table
[edit]I'm finding the Results table difficult to read, with all the different colors. Bolding is used, but it's lost in the kaleidoscope of coloring. I looked back through the page history; the team colors in the table were added on 28 September 2017 by an anonymous user, 108.171.131.189. I believe readability would be improved by removing the colors from the Results table, so I propose making that change (remove team colors from the Results table). Certainly all the teams have their own colors... but the noted use of those colors feels spurious and makes readability suffer, at least for me. Input from other editors welcome. Thanks. - @Dmoore5556: I am strongly in favor of keeping colors for winning teams (as is the case with all other FBS conferences and the SWAC), it looks way better than colors for all teams, but lets those winning teams stand out a bit more than just bolding. [edit]1) Far and away, people care about the winner over which team is the home/away team. The table listing the scores is a real pain to deal with bec it prioritizes home/away over winner/loser. Move the winner to the left and loser to right and deal with the home/away with (H) and (A).

2) And parse the ranking and team into 2 columns. The team's ranking occupies the same column as the name.
Whoever designed the structure of this table never spent much time with spreadsheets.
Here is what I am talking about. Now we can slice and dice. Move those other cols to another table. When analyzing score do I care about TV views or most valuable player, blah, blah.
