I have started a new page on Ruth Goodman the freelanced historian and would welcome references.—Preceding unsigned comment added by LarkinToad2010 (talkcontribs) 14:05, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

It would be much better if you first found the references, and then wrote the page, because Wikipedia article need references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, not just a list of her own writings. Book reviews would go a long way towards showibng notability , and any librarian can help you find them. DGG ( talk ) 02:17, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Detergents are normally used in these rather than soap.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 15:50, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Daughter(s)

[edit]

Eve Goodman is Ruth's daughter, also in the series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.16.163.151 (talk) 13:07, 26 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ruth and Mark Goodman only have one daughter - Eve. If you want a source, suggest you ask Ruth. Or get the person who thought they had two daughters to check their source. There is a perfectly good explanation for the error. I'll leave it as a challenge to those who think there are two daughters to find it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.97.133.126 (talk) 01:38, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Agreed the source for the 2nd alleged daughter is insufficient. Deleted. -- Wire723 (talk) 09:09, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation page?

[edit]

Please can we have a disambiguation page for Ruth Goodman as a quick search brings up Meagan McKinney with no disambiguation. 2A01:4B00:E412:8E00:7099:449B:D89E:2637 (talk) 17:03, 29 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

When there are just 2 people with the same name we usually rely on a note at the top of the page, as seen at Meagan McKinney.
However, this historian appears to be more notable (the McKinney article has low-quality references) so I suggest to give her priority: move this article to Ruth Goodman and add a note pointing to the American novellist. -- Wire723 (talk) 09:02, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ruth Goodman (historian)Ruth Goodman – Currently it points to Meagan McKinney, who is not notable as Ruth Goodman. Gbear605 (talk) 03:10, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

University?

[edit]

The article implies she attended university but doesn't say which? I've seen elsewhere that she either didn't attend university, or didn't graduate? She was awarded an honorary degree much later. Gymnophoria (talk) 13:40, 2 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

The University of Exeter describes her as "University of Exeter alumna Ruth Goodman, a specialist in Tudor domestic life". But I'd want a better source before adding it. Tacyarg (talk) 17:31, 2 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
What better source could you possibly want? If she didn't attend then I guess neither did Katie Hopkins. ~2026-37183-00 (talk) 19:12, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
