Points for discussion

[edit]
  • I do not think it is a conflict, but for full disclosure; as an artist in DC I met Russell several times over two decades, and was reminded of him recently while doing an art project. My decision to create an article was based upon my finding interesting references that went beyond what I knew already.
  • I have a portrait that I drew of him that I was thinking of uploading to illustrate the article, but cannot think of any guidelines that might apply.
  • Researching yielded a number of photos with captions published in Jet Magazine from 1955 to 1980. They support other content, and I take them as reliable sources on par with newspapers.
  • There is a video posted on YouTube that includes a contemporary of Russell listing all the Black owned theaters he played, the only points in the 2 hour film that seem worthy of inclusion.

I also make reference to the parts of the video which included an interview with Russell.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 21:48, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

When I created this article, I uploaded a portrait of Russell I had drawn to be used on Wikipedia. I did not realize that Wikiwand would also use this image on a mirror site with ads. I can think of no alternative than deleting the image to eliminate this misuse. WriterArtistDC (talk) 22:23, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
