"Fairly faithful" portrait of the anarchist Mikhail Bakunin
[edit]This has been contested by Robert M. Cutler (p. 12), who referred to Venturi, quoting Turgenev saying he was not successful in portraying Bakunin:
"Turgenev himself said that in Rudin he had wanted to portray Bakunin, but had not been successful" OliveiraCris (talk) 20:14, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
