Ruby Holler in libraries (WorldCat catalog) --publication in French-language edition (publ. Gallimard Jeunesse; transl. Anne Krief; illus. Pierre Bailly) within the calendar year? That seems incredibly quick to me and I interpret the library record uncertainly. --not mentioned in the article

Two releases 11 July 2003 feature Creech and Ruby Holler. See also the earlier release 2 May 2003, "... Judges Comments on the Shortlist".

How is the novel fantastic? Offhand I think nothing undermines a literal reading except unlikelihood, good fortune, coincidence, as in many realistic novels (and children's novels at least from Lord Fauntleroy). --P64 (talk) 21:18, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
