Lawsuit?

"Earlier this evening I had a chance encounter with a friendly stranger in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. He introduced himself to me as Douglas Johnson, the son of a man by the name of Charles Johnson, who wrote and recorded a song back in 1956 entitled "Rubber Biscuit." He went on to say, in his words, "the Blues Brothers stole the song (by re-recording the song without permission) ... we took them to court, and we won!" He said Aykroyd and Belushi had to pay his dad, Charles Johnson and his group "The Chips",(who were long since dis-banded by then), $250.000 for past royalties. He told me he and his siblings still receive royalty checks every month. You never who you might run into when you take the time to talk to people."

I can find no verification for a lawsuit. Can anyone? NjtoTX (talk) 19:42, 20 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
