Requested move 23 February 2025

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus (per WP:PTOPIC, by pageviews in this case) is to not move. As pageviews are not fixed, this can probably be revisited in the future, however for now the rugby union player seems to have the best claim for primary topic. – There are three men listed upon the Ross Ford (disambiguation) page, with little indication that any renown associated with the player / coach exceeds the combined notability of the remaining two men. Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 01:14, 23 February 2025 (UTC)  Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 09:59, 3 March 2025 (UTC)  Relisting. Sophisticatedevening (talk) 13:58, 10 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oppose. Pageviews Analysis does show that this Ross Ford gets the highest traffic by a lot, showing that there is a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC argument to be made. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 05:31, 4 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. Pageviews are in my opinion overused but in this case they do make it clear that the rugby union player is highly likely—much more likely than any other topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term (my emphasis added, from WP:PRIMARYTOPIC).
