First rugby international to die in WWI

[edit]

This is incorrect. Bath's rugby miscellany (published 2007) probably relied on Sewell's roll of honour (1919), which excluded French players. Alfred Mayssonnié, a Frenchman, was the first to die, on 6 September 1914.[1]
