Both the physical appearance and the character of Ron Swanson bear a strong resemblance to comedy writer John Swartzwelder. Both P&R creator Greg Daniels and producer Mike Scully know Swartzwelder from their work on The Simpsons. Scully also frequently talks about him on The Simpsons audio commentaries (see Swartzwelder article). Is there any official source on the inspiration for the character of Swanson?

Addition: In the "Freddy Spaghetti" Episode, Swanson happily shows two home-made pennants reading "SLASH IT" (referring to the budget cuts). Waving random pennants (usually held by Homer) has also been a frequently used element in Swartzwelder's Season 12 Simpsons scripts (source: Season 12 audio commentaries).

In the monologue about his death bed Ron references two ex-wives, one being Tammy and another unknown ex-wife. He and Tammy were married twice, but he does have another, unknown, ex wife. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.182.246.241 (talk) 21:17, 3 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

An anonymous somebody changed the spelling of 'whisky' to 'whiskey'. Neither is incorrect. Both spellings are suitable. --Petrsw (talk) 16:38, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
