The intro says he's a second generation Kansan. The first sentence of the Early Life and Education section says he's a fifth generation Kansan. To make matters worse, the "second generation" claim has no reference, and the "fifth generation" claim has a reference, titled "Meet Ron Estes" that takes me to a page about Steven Johnson, who holds Mr. Estes' previous job, the Kansas State Treasurer. So we have two conflicting claims and a dated reference. Does anyone have a better link? — MiguelMunoz (talk) 07:19, 13 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
I found a more recent biography on his congressional web page. It claims he's fifth generation, so I fixed that in the intro. But the reference for the original bio, from when he was State Treasurer, was used to back up four facts, but two of those facts missing from the newer biography. Rather than remove the other two (for which we no longer have a valid reference), I replaced their references with a "Citation Needed" mark, so someone who knows how to back these up can fix the page. One of the two claims is still true, and the other might also still be true, but I don't know. The two claims are (a) That he was the first State Treasurer form Wichita in two decades (still true), and (b) That his family still operates a farm in Osage County. I have no idea if they still operate that farm now that he has moved to Washington DC. But I left the claim in the article for now. —MiguelMunoz (talk) 07:53, 13 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
