A possible explanation? he died on 19 June in NZ time and on 18 june in Cook Islands time due to different time zone (about 20 hours gap). In the obituary of the cook islands news one can read: "Friday 19: Professor Ron Crocombe – the renowned Cook Islands scholar, Pacific expert and educationist – died suddenly in Auckland yesterday at the age of 79." here.
