New References
[edit]Looking through this article thoroughly, I noticed that a Wayback Machine is needed to access many references. While I would update the references to the current version, sadly, they don't exist. Some examples include references:
- 17
- 18
- 5
- 103
While I won't be finding new sources at the moment because of limited time, I would encourage anyone interested in searching for new sources to do so. Space Cooki (talk) 04:45, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
Balance
[edit]There is not enough informational balance within the subgenre section. Some genres, like fantasy, lack the specificity that genres like science fiction romance have. As such, I believe this problem should be countered by adding only the baseline information for each subgenre or reducing much of the information. This problem is seen throughout the article, which I will address as I edit. Space Cooki (talk) 21:39, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
I see that the American and International Market section is filled with different and insufficient information on the same topic of balance. As such, I cannot go about my initial idea of adding a table with the critical information instead of having it in one paragraph. I believe those looking for the market on Romance Literature would appreciate the fast-to-navigate information. I have highlighted the market information at the moment, so again, I encourage people interested in this area to create a table to organize said information. For Example:
| Year | Total readers | Total sales |
|---|---|---|
| 1982 | 20 million | $300 million |
| 1991 | Example | Example |
| 2008 | 74 million | $1.37 billion |

Substantial edits
[edit]Looking at the history, you can see that I have made substantial edits surrounding the different subgenres (science fiction romance) or other aspects throughout the article. I made them based on too many details on a subject or unnecessary information. If anyone has a problem with my edits, please don't hesitate to talk to me to discuss what we can do to make the article as great as possible. I will continue my edits but don't hesitate to contact me with any issues. Space Cooki (talk) 19:07, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Reference to ”Rosemary’s Babies” not supported by source article
[edit]The article claims (under ”Bodice rippers in American romance fiction” that a novel called ”Rosemary’s Babies” sold 2.35 million copies. This isn’t supported by the source article (titled ”Rosemary’s Babies”, a review of books by Rosenary Rogers), which says that her book Wicked Loving Lies, sold 3 million copies and another book, Kathleen Woodiwiss’ The Flame and the Flower, sold 2,348,000 copies.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to fix this. Maybe someone can look into it? Entheta (talk) 18:06, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
