Accepted this page via AFC, didn't realize that the creator is likely the article subject or his representative. Still believe the subject is notable but prose and references may need some cleanup. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 16:32, 10 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

i am having trouble with my last reference and actually getting it to be a citation. Other than that I will clean up the prose Relliot1960 (talk) 17:36, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained content removal and COI

[edit]

@Relliot1960, please stop trying to remove content you disagree with without providing a valid reason as you've done here, here, here, and here. You've been banned for edit warring for removing this exact paragraph previously, continuing to try to remove this paragraph in the manner you have been will likely lead to another block. Try to discuss and reach consensus.

Also given your username, you have a conflict of interest, please stop editing this article directly and follow the steps in the WP:COI guidelines, specifically the WP:COIEDIT section which advises making edit requests rather than editing an article directly. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 15:48, 20 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

How is a minor traffic incident from 42 years ago relevant to this BLP? BusterD (talk) 11:13, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
We have different ideas of minor, but I guess 1983 really was that long ago, no objections to removal then, apologies. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 16:44, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
The article is back BradyBoyer2 (talk) 19:47, 21 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'd disagree with categorizing a past guilty plea to a DWI as a "minor traffic incident" but nonetheless the relevance here is that the subject of the article has co-signed on legislation relating to such incidents. It is therefore in the public interest that this knowledge is made available, no matter how embarrassing it might be for the individual involved, as it relates to any policy implications. I have not seen a valid reason for its removal. Pelhampolice (talk) 21:59, 29 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
This incident is WP:UNDUE and (if it's even the same person) happened with two of his friends when the subject was in college over 40 years ago. We don't usually include traffic violations on BLPs per WP:COATRACK. As a WP:BLP, the WP:BURDEN is on those wanting to keep it inserted to demonstrate why it should appear. According to the policy, any editor may remove contentious material which is not supported by multiple independent reliable sources. A normal listing of legal cases in the Nashua Telegraph doesn't constitute multiple (and there's no proof this is even the same Rodney Elliott). As it stands, this is just an undue personal attack.
