Rod's Shop

Wha? Mo mention of Argent's shop on Denmark Street? Even tho I play guitar I know it was THE place for ivory tinklers and countless famous plinky-plonkers in major bands must have been through there, especially as the shop was very clearly open just as electronic music really hit big. this is indeed a strange omission.

for a long time, it was where you went for high-end keyboards & midi gear, sheet music & whatnot. there was even a workshop on the first floor for electronic instrument repair.

this was in contrast (certainly by the mid 80s) with the 'box-shifting' ethic of its neighbours in denmark street & charing cross road. argent's was where the professionals went. I know people who were in & around the instrument retail sector in the 80s & 90s; I'll see if I can pull them into this.

Add ‘Bandleader’ role to ‘Musician, Singer etc.’
