Ancestry tree

[edit]

The ancestry tree looks horrible, why is it not in regular form? Marmaduke Constable has the same issue! -- Lady Meg (talk) 00:13, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The ancestry chart shows Agnes Gascoigne to be the daughter of William Gascoigne (1350-1419, Chief Justice of the King's Bench) and Elizabeth de Mowbray. This contradicts Wikipedia's own entry on William Gascoigne, which says Agnes was the daughter of his other, probably second, wife Joan Pickering. Multiple citations in the Gascoigne article lead to archived posts from soc.medieval.genealogy referring to Joan Pickering's will, which evidently claims Agnes as her own daughter. I don't have an actual citation for the text of the will and I don't have a sense of whether citing the secondary references will arouse the ire of other Wikipedians, but I point out the discrepancy for the examination of those more competent than me. I have moved what are basically research notes out of article space to here and placed them in the collapse box above -- PBS (talk) 20:57, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
