When to use "Ringfeder"
[edit]Did I understand the text correctly that a "Ringfeder" is used as expression for all similar products, like the front loader waste bin is called a "Dumpster" no matter who the actual manufacturer is? -And like the crane behind the cabin of a truck is called a "Hiab" even though it might be a Palfinger or Fassi product? - Well, in Denmark, it's technically called "anhængertræk", daily use "hængertræk", directly meaning "trailer pull", would probably be translated to "trailer coupling". This word goes for tow hitch as well, but those could also be called "trækkrog" meaning "pull hook". G®iffen 19:03, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, the abovementioned "Dumpster" would be a "frontloader (container)" in DK, and the "Hiab" would be a "truck crane" (DK:Lastbil-kran). I can't recall Danish using brand names colloquially unless it's a "danified" English word...
