Introduction
[edit]I don't think that it is uncontroversial to claim Riesling, Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc as the "top three" I don't think Sauvignon Blanc belongs here but, in any case, who 'usually' includes it? Andrewgconnor (talk) 22:54, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Australia & New Zealand
[edit]Describing Otago as cool climate doesn't seem accurate (particularly as Marlborough is also described thus) and I think Waipara should be mentioned as an emerging source of high quality wines. Maybe citing Michael Cooper? Andrewgconnor (talk) 22:46, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Why is "riesling" capitalized in this article?
[edit]I understand that wine varieties are capitalized when they come from a place (Asti, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Cava, Chablis, Chianti, Lambrusco, Rioja) and they come from that place. A burgundy wine from California is not a Burgundy, which comes from Bourgogne in France. "Riesling" is of uncertain origin according to https://www.etymonline.com/word/Riesling. So can we not capitalize it? DBlomgren (talk) 17:56, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
