He's grandfather from his dad's side is chinese. YAN is a chinese filipino last name. His mother is Filipino, his dad is chinese-filipino.

But does it matter if he is a Chinese descent written in his profile? Since he is also a Filipino descent as well.

This article is connected to category 'Chinese filipinos', yet there is no indication of Chinese descent in the article. Can someone find the facts and correct the article text or delete the category connection, based on the facts. Thanks Hmains 03:37, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Death cause

[edit]

@Ricky6991: The cause of death is currently unsourced, and as per the template documentation shouldn't be included unless significant to notability - there's no indication that is the case here. Please stop restoring that parameter. Nikkimaria (talk) 13:35, 25 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi! An autopsy was done. It was documented and released to the public when Rico Yan died. Please stop messing up his wikipedia. Please and thank you. Ricky6991 (talk) 20:36, 25 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Whether an autopsy was done or not is not the determining factor in whether the determined cause is included. If it's documented, it should be cited in the article body; it should only be included in the infobox if you can demonstrate that it is significant to notability. @Ricky6991: Thank you for adding a source in the article body; however, as your edits do not address the issue of significance, it still should be left out of the infobox. Nikkimaria (talk) 15:33, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Ricky6991: If you'd like to make an argument in favour of adding the parameter in the hopes of gaining consensus for it, this talk page is the best place to do that. Since you are aware that your addition is disputed, please don't continue to reinstate your edit without engaging here. Nikkimaria (talk) 21:23, 27 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
