I worked for Richard Booth in the late 1970's and he a was a genuine fraud and crook. You accepted a cheque from him at your peril, because they were all somewhat rubberised (ie bouncy.) Hay Castle, where he lived, was filled with antique books, but one evening in 1977 he piled rather too many logs on an open fire and went out to the pub.
