This article, and most of the articles about species of cownose rays Rhinoptera, assign the genus to Rhinopteridae. Yet the article about Rhinoptera bonasus (simply identified as cownose ray) classifies it in Myliodontidae. Both systems appear in other literature, and seem to rest on a possibly endless disagreement whether rhinopterids warrant family or subfamily status. We could mention that in the article, but should probably be consistent in the taxoboxes. Cephal-odd (talk) 02:50, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
