Proposed addition

[edit]

I’d like to propose a small, sourced addition to the article reflecting independent media coverage of Rewilding Europe’s involvement in conservation-led nature-based travel. The suggested text is based on third-party sources and is intended to document existing activities rather than promote any specific platform. I welcome editor feedback. The section could be added to the Rewilding Europe tools section.

Rewilding tourism

Rewilding Europe has also developed nature-based travel ventures as a means of supporting ecosystem restoration and local livelihoods. Since the early 2010s, the organisation has launched initiatives, such as the European Safari Company and Rewilding Europe Travel, that connect visitors with rewilding landscapes through conservation-led travel experiences. Journalists have described these efforts as part of a broader shift in adventure and nature tourism toward models that aim to contribute to ecological recovery rather than focusing solely on recreation. Such approaches frame tourism as a potential tool for financing rewilding activities and strengthening local nature-based economies.

Disclosure: I work with organisations active in conservation and sustainability; I’m proposing this text based solely on independent sources. ~2026-56399-6 (talk) 11:42, 28 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
