[edit]What are the issues with this article?
I liked this game. Granted, I was young... but it was enjoyable. Beat it.
My dad once owned an arcade game company. His Revolution X cabinet was so successful he had to retrofit it with a bill acceptor.
Why is there nothing here about how this is considered one of the worst games of all time? 209.136.161.135 (talk) 15:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Probably because we can't find a reputable source that says that. Or, at least, I can't. It may be common knowledge that this game sucks, but nobody but GameFAQ reviewers and bloggers seem to say anything about it. And don't forget, even if we found quotes that said this, we'd have to include quotes that said the opposite, just to be NPOV. -- trlkly 05:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- GamePro panned the SNES and Genesis versions, I think, but I don't think they have archives that go that far back. Casey J. Morris (talk) 18:42, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
DVDs?
[edit]This article mentions DVDs and LaserDVDs. Um... they're CDs. This game came out in 1994. The DVD wasn't even invented yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.32.124.223 (talk) 21:30, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Mortal Kombat ads
[edit]I've just looked through a few versions of Mortal Kombat II for arcade, and none feature a revolution X advert or even mention it in service mode. Can someone prove this? Otherwise I'm going to get rid of that section as uncited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VanillaSeagull (talk • contribs) 15:07, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
High Scores
[edit]I just added a section on the world record for highest score, because there is now a debate online about who legitimately holds the highest recorded score. Most websites have 19,797,890 recorded from Aaron Van Buren, but many believe it doesn't count, since it was a ROM for the SNES port. Recently, John Bullard earned a score of 4,099,990 on one of the original arcade cabinets, so I included the video as proof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrUl_QmysrI&feature=youtu.be — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnimasaIsLove (talk • contribs) 03:36, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure this qualifies as WP:TRIVIA.--Martin IIIa (talk) 12:35, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- There are 2 exploits to get an incredibly high score in this game, at the risk of crash / endless loop.
- First is, the stage with 9 crates where enemies jump in from all sides, and until all 9 crates are destroyed, the game does not progress; if you carefully avoid shooting the crates, you can "farm" the enemies into the 100s or even 1000s (if you have the patience).
- However, there seems to be a limit, somewhere around 1700 in my experience, exceeding which will prevent the game from progressing even after the 9 crates are destroyed. (The stage just doesn't move, even though the music and voice prompts play, and the game appears responsive otherwise). The game must be rebooted and all progress is lost. There is no way to proceed OR abandon / die.
- The second is the stage with the massive helicopter. Taking out the cannons and all but 1 missile launcher, but avoiding damage to the rest of it, allows the player to "farm" the missiles for points (toward the high score) as well as the crates with CD's (as special ammo). The CD counter in the game tops out at 999 - although it's possible to accumulate at least 3000 or so CD's, using them for the rest of the game, without the counter dipping to below 999.
- Finding each Aerosmith member multiplies the score for the stage. E.g. 1 band member = 2X score, 2 band members = 3X score, etc. Finding all 5 gets you a 6X multiplier. With the above-mentioned farming areas, as well as hitting every bonus/secret area, it's possible to reach a score into multiple millions, most likely exceeding the 20M figure. (If the game doesn't freeze at the 9-crate stage...) 23.115.35.219 (talk) 10:15, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
