Retirement Plan (film)Retirement Plan – Since Retirement Plan is currently a redlink, removal of the unnecessary parenthetical qualifier "(film)" may be considered an uncontroversial technical request. If preferred by consensus, retirement plan with the lowercase "p" can continue as a redirect to Pension or it can redirect to the film Retirement Plan. Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:30, 8 March 2026 (UTC)  Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 10:34, 3 April 2026 (UTC)  Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 12:40, 10 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

As mentioned above, in addition to the Academy-Award-nominated short film — Retirement Plan/Retirement Plan (film), there is also the theatrical feature The Retirement Plan which does not disambiguate its main title header as The Retirement Plan (film), since there does not appear to be expectation that the uppercase The Retirement Plan or even the lowercase the retirement plan, which is currently a redlink, should redirect to either the article Pension or to the article Retirement. Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 22:58, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
It may be also noted that neither the feature film The Retirement Plan nor the Oscar-nominated short Retirement Plan/Retirement Plan (film) focuses upon structured receipt of financial sustenance in one's old age.
The Retirement Plan concerns a retired beach bum evading gangsters, while Retirement Plan concerns an employee nearing retirement whose well-laid plans of enjoyable activity in his soon-to-be free time are negated by death.
Also, since the example of Friendly Fire (disambiguation) was presented above, other examples of uppercase main title headers, such as Cigarette Girl, Dust Bunny, Escape Velocity, Hot Ice, Police Academy, Red Meat, Saddle Tramp, Total War, Union Station or Witch Doctor, to name but ten, all of which are titles of books, films, TV series, etc, are not redirects to the lowercase forms cigarette girl, dust bunny, escape velocity, hot ice, police academy, red meat, saddle tramp, total war, union station or witch doctor.
Users typing the uppercase form are presumed to be researching a title, rather than the lowercase form. However, hatnotes atop both forms, each pointing to the other, should of course be added to resolve any uncertainty. In the case of uppercase disambiguation pages, the top entry would point to the lowercase form. Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 22:09, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
