6600 had Reservation Stations

[edit]

...sort-of. Topologically the 6600 and Tomasulo may be shown to be equivalent, especially Modern scoreboard systems (of which Mitch Alsup is the world leading expert) and I outline the transformation process (including terminology which is different in each architecture). see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Out-of-order_executionLkcl (talk) 14:45, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Rename - Scheduler (processor design)

[edit]

We should rename this article to something else. At least, the term "reservation station" is used only by Intel, and not all schedulers are unified. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 08:32, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
