Local loop
[edit]Is local loop defined as the point to which the signal goes digital or is it the entire line between the POTS telephone and the Central Office? Serving area interface
[edit]It seems like a remote concentrator and a serving area interface are really the same thing. Is this correct? If so, that page should be merged to this article. If not, what is the difference? —radiojon 04:42, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- I believe the serving area interface is just a cross-connection point between the cables that come from the CO and the cables that go to the customers. - Right, whoever you are. SAI is a box that always has a cross connection point, and sometimes may have a RC. A post office may often have a scale for weighing mail, but a post office is not a scale or vice versa. —Jim.henderson 15:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
