Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because this is the correct information for the band Sports. The page was then deleted and replaced with a different band of the same name on January 4th 2017.

The previous article was deleted because there was insufficient third party sources and a general lack of notability of the band. If you think the band is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, you must provide more third party sources. I would suggest re-creating the article via the Draft Wizard and have another editor review it. For now, do not revert the article to its previous state until you seek consensus from other editors. It's hard to keep up with who is who here. It looks like there are 2 non-notable bands with the same name, fighting over the article. Can I ask if anybody is being paid? If so please read WP:Paid as well as WP:COI. Smallbones(smalltalk) 17:14, 24 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I am not being paid here (just like creating articles on bands) and fail to see how the version with more references is "non-notable". They have been covered by major outlets such as Rolling Stone and NPR, among numerous others. The other band has very few sources which makes it non-notable.
