Settlement

[edit]

I rewrote this section for accuracy. None of the sources cited, nor any others I could find, mentions a "sexual harassment" suit: no complaint was ever filed, so there is no knowing what kind of suit might have been launched. In his letter of apology Archbishop Weakland states that he settled in order to fend off a claim that he had interfered with Marcoux's ability to earn income. At any rate, since no complaint was filed, there was no suit: so Archbishop Weakland settled not a lawsuit but a threatened lawsuit, and the precise character of the threatened suit remains unknown.

If there are sources that say differently, please feel free to add them: I couldn't find any. --Rrburke(talk) 14:01, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do we know if any of the money was repaid to the diocese?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.50.84.235 (talk) 12:42, 14 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Updating

[edit]

In an effort to keep this article up-to-date, I have removed some disambiguation links and added a photo. This was the only photo in Wikimedia Commons available, so if anyone has a photo more contemporaneous it might be added. Likewise, any addition materials and citations would be helpful.
