from Clq05: "and what's the major differences between the regulon and operon in structure?" (moved from article to talk page). Alfalfahotshots (talk) 20:36, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Does a regulon count as a subset of gene regulatory network (GRN)?

[edit]

See MeSH term: Interacting DNA-encoded regulatory subsystems in the GENOME that coordinate input from activator and repressor TRANSCRIPTION FACTORS during development, cell differentiation, or in response to environmental cues. The networks function to ultimately specify expression of particular sets of GENES for specific conditions, times, or locations.[1]
