Wouldn't it have been better to call this article "Regular element (Lie theory)"? Jayy V (talk) 21:28, 10 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

2 (controdicting?) definitions

[edit]

The 2 definitions given in the article seems to be conrodicting. Acording to the first one (in the opening paragraph) a regular nilpotent matrix in gl_n is regular, while acording to the second (from burbaki) it is not.

I am familiear with the first one (at list for reductive lie algebras). but I do not hae a refernce for it under my hand. Probably the second one is outdated.

Did I miss somthing? sombody can give more details?

Thanks a lot, Rami (talk) 06:44, 7 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
