The article refers to the recordings of the Ring under Goodall and Solti as though they were concurrent. In fact Solti's Ring was recorded between 1958 and 1965, and Goodall's between 1973 and 1977. Tim riley (talk) 08:15, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The article used to begin: "Reginald Goodall was an English fascist, vocal coach and conductor". I have removed the mention of him being a fascist. I see from the history this has already gone back and forth a couple of times, so I'll explain why. I think it's fair to say that the opening sentence of biographical articles should provide a quick summary of why the subject has a Wikipedia article, and I think it's fair to say, also, that Goodall, though he may well have been a fascist (I haven't the time or inclination to assess), doesn't have a Wikipedia article because of that, but because he was a conductor. The body of the article deals with his views, and I think that, not the lead sentence, is the right place, just as the body of the article on Samuel Beckett, for example, is the right place to deal with his activities in the French Resistance ("Samuel Beckett was a freedom fighter" would be a strange way to begin an encyclopedia article). --Camembert (talk) 22:06, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
