Ease of Understanding

As a layperson, I came here to find some information about referred pain. In particular:

(1) I suspect I am suffering from some referred pain. Am I or not?

(2) What does the pain tell me about my underlying condition?

There's nothing here that helps me. In fact there's nothing here that helps me understand the subject at all as a general encyclopedia reader. And there are no useful references.

Radiation

In the lede, it says "Radiation(pain) is different from referred pain." I corrected the spacing error (and another spacing error) by removing "(pain)", but the fact that "Radiation (pain)" redirects here is somewhat confusing if the lede says they're different. Perhaps someone with a better medical understanding of the two would care to weigh in. Inks.LWC (talk) 07:32, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

This puzzles me, too, lo these years later. Why the redirect here if "Radiation is different from referred pain."? Please clarify. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 02:28, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Example and lack of clarity

Having read this article, there appears to be a lack of clarity - then again, this is neurology at its heart, so I understand the lack of. That said, I came here wondering why whenever I tug on a moustache hair on a certain area of the right side of my mouth, the back of my head hurts like it's having a pin stuck in it. I'm not dying here or anything, just intrigued.
