The Ferry crossing
[edit]The first time I travelled across it, 25-30 years ago, the banks of the river were lined with reedbanks and it looked like a beautiful piece of wild nature. The second and so far the last time I travelled across it (and back), all the reed beds had gone and instead it just looked like a piece of drab suburbia. I wish some conservationist would restore the wild reed-beds.
