The first few sentences leave me wondering: what was the taxonomic status of the red lemur between 2001 and 2008? 86.0.202.187 (talk) 02:32, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was promoted to species status within the genus Eulemur in 2001. In 2008 that species was split into 2 species. I added a short line to the article to clarrify. –Visionholder (talk) 16:35, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
