The Familytree template is deprecated and will be deleted when all uses have been migrated to the Tree chart template. This diagram now uses the Tree chart template. Book sources need to expand it

[edit]

There is no official history of the Rote Drei in the same way there is for the Red Orchestra, so a listing of sources is needed to build an article.

  • Sonjas Rapport. (autobiografical) First "complete" German language edition, Verlag Neues Leben (Eulenspiegel Verlagsgruppe) 2006
  • Rado details are well understood, when he started, who recruited him.
  • Roessler who provided 42% of sources is well understood, who recruited him, where he operated and so on.
  • Rachel Dübendorfer ran a network with the group. Only the most cursory information on Dübendorfer and her network is unknown, except for work with Roessler.
  • Otto Punter also ran a network. He produced a book "Secret war in a neutral country: The revelations of a secret agent on espionage in Switzerland against fascism and Hitler 1930–1945, 1967"
  • Georges Blun had a network but no book.
  • Foote was important part. Has a book. Likely good for dates only. Book has been described as expanding his own work with untruths. He didn't have his own sources for example.
  • "Soviet intelligence communications", a CIA document has a report on rote drei that covers the main dates.
  • War Secrets in the Ether, Fricke Part III has a report on it.

Other biographries needed e.g

  • Edmond Hamel, have little information on them. National archives has a document on him. Kesaris has a mention. STUB only.
