– Per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:NCSHIPS specifically: an article about a ship not known to have a prefix should use only the ship's name, if that name is unambiguous. Operator Red Funnel describes them without a prefix as has the International Institute of Marine Surveying , Isle of Wight Radio , Island Echo , Nautilus International , the Southern Daily Echo and Ships Monthly.. The only reservation I would have was if Red Funnel used eg Red Kite as a name, which would then conflict with the real bird. That would lead to an inconsistency in the naming pattern which might cause confusion. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 08:03, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Category:Ships of Red Funnel is already inconsistent with Red Jet 1, Red Jet 2 etc. If there were to a Red Kite in the future, then it would need disambiguation, but at this stage it’s a problem that doesn't exist. Emethigg (talk) 22:49, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

Red Falcon → MV Red FalconMV Red Falcon – I'm sorry to do this, but I feel the term Red Falcon is widely used for many other things, including several books, a name associated with the red-footed falcon, a sentai character, and Konami's Contra series, all illustrated from a simple image search. The ship is by no means the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and Red Falcon itself would be best suited as a disambig given the white range of uses.

Alternatively I would support a move to Red Falcon (ship) for this page. Pinging @Emethigg, @Murgatroyd49 from the previous discussion. Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:46, 22 July 2026 (UTC)

• Support There should be a disambiguation page at the base name - Red Falcons gets more pageviews and can potentially also be referred to as "Red Falcon", as well as the other things the nominator mentioned.
